Snow, snow, snow!!!!!!

It's been so awesome coming home to the "beautiful, wonderful, scrumptulescent, we really can't say enough great things about it", U S of A.
It's been even better because we got snow. LOTS of snow! And by "lots" I mean you can't see the grass poking out from underneath. It's a big deal around here.
In honor of this blessed event, we braved the flurries and stepped out to play in the snow.
Here's Peter attempting a snow angel.
He plunged right in before we discovered the top layer of ice. bummer dude.
But like the man that he is, he persevered.
I swear I wasn't standing over him yelling that he better not get up before the angel was finished.
I have a very plesant disposition, and would never sacrifice the health and safety
of my husband to get a funny shot...........never.

Here's wishing you a very Merry Christmas and an excellent 2009.
We'll see you on the flip side!
Merry Christmas!

Patchouli oil and parachute pants

This is a post of pure unadulterated bliss. Its bursting with joy and love and excitement and cocoa puffs. Although I don’t really like cocoa puffs. I’m a cereal purist. Chocolate for breakfast just seems wrong. Anyway, back to the joy.

Picture us dancing. Very unlike the previous post, this is full on flailing legs, lots of arm pumps, MC Hammer meets dirty hippie dancing. There is hopping and clapping. There is snorting and laughing. It’s a little weird to be honest. But it’s pure, and that’s what’s important.

Peter has just this morning, sent off his fifth and final application for PhD work. All schools are in the States, but that’s about as detailed as we can be. Depending on the good will of various admissions offices, we could end up on the east coast, in the Midwest, or in glorious California! My heart is calling for California, specifically for the sunshine that tends to reside there. To quote Zeppelin, “going to California with an aching in my heart.” Incidentally, that song was written about Joni Mitchell. It all comes full circle people!

So, we’re happy. The heavy cloud of stress that has been hovering over Peter has lifted just a bit. It’s not totally gone, there’s still the matter of this Masters he has to finish. But the next phase of life is beginning to solidify. It’s a little bit freaky to be honest. So, if you’re the praying kind, pray that he gets in. Somewhere……anywhere really. Because I don’t think my academic loving hubby could take another year of waiting around, working at Borders. He spends most of his paycheck buying books anyway.

Dance with us people, it feels good.
